RSD Hero – Katie Rusonis

by Emily

Katie Rusonis’ Senior Class Project fundraiser. Katie did this Motorcycle Run as her class project. Katie has RSD.

Katie raised $1600.00 for American RSDHope’s Research Fund!

She plans on going on to be a Physical Therapist after High School graduation in the spring of 2010. Katie has RSD in both legs, her hip and in her back. She has fought her way out of her wheelchair with the tough love and “insistence” of her loving mom, Carolyn. Katie is our second PA High School student to raise funds as a class community project for American RSDHope.

Thank you so much Katie and the very best of luck to you in your future as a physical therapist and in being the very beautiful person we know you to be.

Way to go Katie!  Congratulations on spreading the awareness of RSD / CRPS

Hi I am sorry to hear of your PAIN , I have full body RSD and suffer 24/7. I am a disabled veteran and live in Roxbury. I pray you find help. The key is to never never give up. Find a good Dr and you will need many.. Did your mom and you find a Dr close by. We RSD people share our leads because that is how we survive. Leads are far in between. We help each other because they may be able to help us and it makes you feel good by helping them that is what I learned. Most Dr’s give up on us because they cannot help us.I know a lot about RSD because I had it so long.. You must learn everything about RSD in order to get help. Circle yourself with hope and smartness . teach your friends about your PAIN but, not too much or you will lose them. Remember, your PAIN is your PAIN . No one will wants to hear about it. Others will see your PAIN so let them ask about it. This is my story and what I learned. I pray for you and your PAIN. Remember never give up and keep GOD near he will give you all the strength to survive and stay happy. A RSD friend, Ed
